Today, tyre manufacturer and travel review company Michelin released its 2011 "Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2011", which includes a new Bib Gourmand award for the Canton Arms.
Somewhat short of the of one of the famous stars, the Bib Gourmand recognizes "good food at moderate prices" and is a notable achievement for our local, placing it among five or so similarly recognized restaurants in the borough. I think I'll stop by tonight to heft a congratulatory pint!

I had lunch there on Sunday - a very nice vegetarian risotto and a delicious side order of cabbage. Nice to have it on ones doorstep.

ReplyDeleteHad a tasty bit of mackerel followed by a substantial chunk of stewed beef last night myself. Quite satisfying. My amateurs' mistake was to forget to check out the specials board.
