Melissa Launay' paintings depicts dream-like worlds and playful narratives inspired by her love of nature. Deep dark forests, lush green flowering shrubs and cool blue lakes provide the backdrop for an array of exotic birds, wild animals and smaller creatures of the undergrowth. Her colourful and decorative designs are inspired by the elegant lines of Japanese prints, vivid colours of arabesque and Indian motifs and vibrant hues of medieval Persian worlds. She also continues to be inspired by the work of; Sandro Botticellli, Gustave Klimt, Henri Rousseau, Frida Khalo, Errol Le Cain and Gustave Moreau. www.melissalaunay.com
