Second public exhibition on Sainsbury's Nine Elms redevelopment

Sainsbury's are holding another exhibition on plans for the Nine Elms site:

  • Friday 4th March 2pm-8pm
  • Saturday 5th March 10am-4pm

Apparently after taking our views on board from the first exhibition they have:
  1. Significantly increased the amount of open green space on the roof garden.
  2. Evolved the look and feel of the development through the use of high quality materials that will enhance the completed development and ensure a high quality addition to the neighbourhood.
  3. Improved the 'active frontage' on Wandsworth Road to provide both a pedestrian friendly environment and also to ensure that activity and movement are key features of what visitors and passers-by will experience.
I think (1) refers to a private garden, (2) is a bit short on detail and I have no idea what they mean by (3) so I suppose we shall have to go along and find out.

Oh how they tempt and entice with the promise of a new tube station if they get what they want.

  3. Andrew, I've mentioned the Sainsbury's Consultation on my blog also, but please note that the only green space provision is now not likely to be public on account of health and safety concerns re. getting locals on to the roof. So its size sort of pales into insigificance really...
