Police.uk interactive local crime map now live

Social media analysists predict that today will be one of the busiest days of the year for hyper-local bloggers who will be poring over the new police.uk site where you can tap in your postcode and look at the crime figures for your area.

The profile for crime in this area in December 2010 was:

1. Anti-social behaviour 474
2. Violent crime 191
3. Vehicle crime 89
4. Robbery 66
5. Burglary 39

Plus 337 under the heading of "other crime" which begs more questions than it answers. It sure can't include fly-tipping as there's nothing marked for Tradescant Road, he harrumphed.

I don't really know what to make of it all yet but I think I'm going to have quite a few busy evenings this week.
