I went to see legendary special effects man Ray Harryhausen in conversation at the Cinema Museum last night.
So many revelations: that Mr Harryhausen is still alive (he's 90); that there is a Cinema Museum in Lambeth and that the cinema is housed in what was once part of the Lambeth Workhouse where Charlie Chaplin once spent time as a child.
The museum is housed in the Masters House which was the admin block of the Workhouse. It is just off Renfrew Road, near Elephat & Castle.
The main focus on the Cinema Museum is the experience of "going to the pictures" and it's full of amazing memorabilia. It's definitely worth a trip if you're interested in local history or cinema history.
I didn't have a decent camera with me, sadly, but here are some pics I took on my phone.
