The Guardian's property section has an article about the pros and cons of moving to Vauxhall and Nine Elms here. Apparently "Vauxhall is not for the faint-hearted. Still, all its hideousness equals good value, especially for its location".
Not exactly complimentary was it! They managed to miss out the gem that is Vauxhall City Farm in the oasis of Spring Gardens, the wonderful Italo Deli in Bonnington Square, and the Nine Elms flower market. Oh well.
This article certainly did focus on the negative. After reading it, I thought "Where is the author moving from, Belgravia?" On the bright side, perhaps this will serve as a call to arms. We really could use more green space, less traffic, and a bit of a shift beyond utilitarian architecture.
And I'll take Nando's over Favorite Chicken any day.

ReplyDeleteLet's keep this secret for ourselves, shall we? :) Because we can end up with Starbucks and Nando's at the corner soon.
ReplyDeleteguess you had some advance notice on this to get it live so soon.
ReplyDeletei'm the first to concede the area's flaws, but it seems a bit cruel - there are certainly a lot of worse areas.
