On ATMs and Batteries

ATMs: In case you hadn't twigged, the cash machine embedded into the Costcutter on the corner of South Lambeth Road & Aldebert terrace - despite looking rather like a standard bank ATM - does charge you £1.75 for the privilege of withdrawing cash. Thanks to Malika in Hartington Road for the heads up on that.

I was getting very exasperated not knowing how to get rid of the large amount of batteries I've been saving up for disposal over the years. Somehow I never seem to have enough to quite justify getting a bus to West Norwood, Wandsworth or Battersea as Lambeth Council suggests. And then I was told that Sainsbury's Nine Elms has a battery disposal container by its Customer Service desk and so it proved to be. Must have walked past it hundreds of times. Oh well, now I know.
