London Open House - 20/21 September 2008

The annual London Open House is a great opportunity to get to nose around buildings not normally open to the public.

If you volunteer as a guide or a steward for half a day you not only have a lot of fun showing people around or bossing people about but you also get to jump the queues at many of the participating buildings for the rest of the weekend. Sadly the number of buildings excluded from this offer seems to get larger every year.

But anyway, it's great fun, so if you are interested in volunteering this year email hsasaki@openhouse.org.uk with your full contact details.

There's always something unexpected. I've stewarded in various Lambeth buildings in previous years and learned so much. The tour and story of the Angell Town Estate regeneration was particularly impressive.
