The Friends of Vauxhall Park Open Meeting at Ashmole Tenants Association Hall, 2 Meadow Road. All welcome.
Items on the agenda include proposals for a new orchard, the future of the flower beds in the lavender garden area and how to work effectively with the Council in the face on on going budget cut. Plus the Vauxhall Nine Elms Battersea Opportunity Area proposals that will affect the park - particularly the plans for 30/60 South Lambeth Road..

Exhibition: Festival in Lambeth
10am to 5pm: An exhibition of watercolours, photographs, photos and objects from the archives' collections celebrating Festival in Lambeth over time: from the 18th century entertainments at Vauxhall Gardens and Lambeth's other pleasure gardens, its fairs, pageants and popular entertainers, through to the Victorian crowds at the Crystal Palace and the local church garden party, and on to the Festival of Britain, the various Royal jubilees and visits and the Lambeth Country Show. Whatever the century, people have always loved a spectacle!
