Vauxhall Park Update

Some news from the Friends of Vauxhall Park (www.vauxhallpark.org):

DAMAGED GATES
We are still working with the council towards the full restoration of the damaged gates and pillars on the corner of Fentiman Road and South Lambeth Road. The damage was caused by a vehicle collision and is covered by insurance so we're hoping for the work to begin soon. We are actively pursuing the council to make sure that the unsightly board across the entrance way is replaced as quickly as possible.

CAFE PARCO
We are delighted that there is a new tenant in the Cafe serving delicious coffees, pastries, snacks and light lunches - please go along and give them your support

BONDWAY SITE REDEVELOPMENT
The Friends were represented throughout the three week Planning Inquiry into the proposed 149m Octave Tower development on the Bondway storage site. We are objecting to it on the grounds of the damage it will cause to the park, a much valued open space in an area of high social deprivation. The decision by the the Secretary of State will be announced in February 2011.
